Trip Overview

Manaslu Expedition is a complete climb of 8000 m summit in the magnificent Himalayas. It is the 8th highest peak and is situated in the remote trekking area of Manaslu in the mid-west region of Nepal. It is a stunning terrain and offers a challenging climb. Manaslu Peak (8163 m) stands out above the surrounding summits as the largest and most stunning dominating mountain to be seen from a distance. The Manaslu trek is more difficult and technical as Cho Oyu and Sishapangma. Therefore, every climber must possess a superior mental and physical fitness with an excellent level of climbing ability and altitude proficiency at a higher altitude. Mountain Monarch offers a complete service to ensure the highest chance in achieving the summit of Manaslu.

Manaslu Climbing Expedition Route

We will follow our Budhi Gandaki valley trail until Sama Goan. In the Manaslu Glacier, we carefully follow the bamboo markers wands. These are fixed ropes to traverse the dangerous crevasses and sections. We set up a Manaslu Expedition Camp 1 at 5700 meters, located at the bottom of North Peak right above the glacier, in a protected area.

Expedition Camp 2 is located in the secure section of the climb, which is located on an extremely flat terrain at 6400m. However, at this camp there is a chance in snow, it is not a problem. The trek to Camp 2 up to Camp 3 is among the shortest days, and takes approximately 3 hours. The path continues along the remaining glacier and climbs difficult sections of ice and snow and is safe until the final Camp 4 at 7400 meters. In the end, we will have to walk through the terribly exposed remains of previous expeditions in order to reach Summit Camp. Summit Camp. It's sure to be a long and tiring day with 6-8 hours of climbing.

Expedition Summit Day

The route immediately climbs an easy gradient from the summit camp, before reaching the first summit table. The route ascends three distinct levels before reaching the final slope of the pyramid. From here, a short steep slope beneath the immediate summit can be followed until reaching the pre-summit. The summit can be reached via one exposed traverse approximately 70 meters. This section requires fixed ropes. From Camp 4 to the fantastic summit can take between 6 and 9 hours, with 3 to 5 hours to descend into Camp 4.
