Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek comes under the region of the Annapurna Conservation Area. It is  a short and relatively easy trek for the trekkers. It is mostly 4 to 5 days trek and can be  extended as a need of trekkers. It starts from Nayapul after one and half hour drive from  Pokhara. It passes through beautiful villages of Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk. Gurungs  and Magars inhabit these villages.

The viewpoint is on poonhill, which is at the altitude of  3210m. The scenery of sunrise falling on the mountain regions looks mesmerizing from the  viewpoint. That is why this trekking site is popularly known as the photographer’s paradise.  Mt. Dhaulagiri range, Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna,  Lamjung Himal, Barasikhar, Nilgiri, Tukuche Himal, Hiunchuli and Manaslu ranges can be  viewed from here. Not only the sunrise and mountains, but the scenery on the way to  poonhill also attracts the trekkers. The dense rhododendron forest full of different birds adds  the beauty to the trek. While passing the village, we can get the opportunity to get close to  the local cultures and traditions. The beautiful vies of terraced slopes, warm villages and  paddy fields makes the heart of trekkers more delightful.

Detail Itinerary

Our staff from Finding Nepal will come to pick you up at Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA), Kathmandu then you will be escorted to a hotel via a tourist vehicle.  Our staff will briefly explain about hotel, Kathmandu city and trekking.  You can ask your guide if you have any problem.

We will be taking you for a tour around Kathmandu visiting two world heritage site located at Kathmandu, Pasupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath Temple. Pasupatinath Temple is a scared place for hindus where you can observe rituals from birth to death of a hindu person. Similarly, Swyambhunath is a scared place for Buddhist peoples. Both temples have massive number of monkeys.  Way to Pasupatinath is simple but it isn’t the case for Swyambhunath because it is located in a steep hill.

You will be travelling to Pokhara via a tourist vehicle which takes about 6-7 hours. Pokhara is also known as tourism capital of Nepal. It has a beautiful scenery of mountains as well as a lakes where you can go boating.

On day 04 you will be travelling from Pokhara to Nayapool in a tourist vehicle which takes about 2 hours and from there you will be trekking to Tikhe Dhunga. In Tikhe Dhunga it is mostly stone steps uphill surrounded by greenery where you can see traditional Nepal.

You will be starting your trekking from Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani which takes about 6-7 hours.  Ghorepani is a village in Myagdi District. You will spending your night in the Ghorepani village that day.

You will start your journey early in the morning from Ghorepani to Poonhill to see sunrise. It is one the most renowned treks.  In this trek you can experience traditional Gurung culture and panoramic sunrise view.  From there you can also see Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain.  Then you will be trekking to Ghandruk.  Ghandruk is a beautiful village where most people are Gurungs and you can visualize typical Nepal houses which are made of woods, bricks and muds.

On day 07 you will begin your journey by trekking back to Nayapool from Ghandruk and from there our private vehicle will be at your service to pick you up from there and drop you to Pokhara which takes about 6-7 hours’ time.

On your second last day of the tour, you will be travelling back to Kathmandu from Pokhara tourist bus station.
