Upper Mustang Trek

You will be escorted from Kathmandu to Pokhara in a private tourist bus. You will be going through Dhading. Pokhara is located in Kaski District. It is an idle spot for tourist because it offers amazing mountain viewing experience. You can go for boating in lakes. You will be spending your night in a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.

After breakfast in a tourist standard hotel, you will flying to Jomson from Pokhara Regional Airport which is under construction to be an international airport. Jomson is mainly inhabitant by Buddhist peoples so you can see monastery. This place also offers exotic scenery and the place is pretty much cold all year. It is almost famous for its world class apple production. After that to you trek to Kagbeni which takes approximately 3 hours of time. It is a restricted area so you will special permission to go to there. Kagbeni is a small village where there aren’t many people which lies in Mustang District.

You will leave for Chele after breakfast at a lodge in the morning. It will a long journey as you will be trekking for almost 7 hours for the day. You will require a special permit for this location. In this journey, you will climb a lot of ridges. On your way, you can expect to see many wonderful landscapes which will add to your trek experience. You will be resting in a lodge for the night.

After a night in Chele, you will heading for Syangboche which is approximately 6 hours far. You will descend hill and you can see a wonderful village called Samar. In your journey, you will ascend and descend and you will pass by many villages. In Syangboche you can see many tea houses which looks very similar to each other. People here are very religious as you can see religious symbols on windows curtain and door.

You will have breakfast at a lodge in Syangboche and soon you will leave for Ghyami. The trek will be approximately 5 hours long but it can be challenging as you will ascend Syangboche Pass. From there, you can see amazing landscape view. You will then descend for some time and ascend again. You can experience strong and cold winds of Mustang on your path. After reaching Ghaymi you will be staying in a lodge which are mostly runned by local people.

You will have a short journey today as compared to previous day. It will only be 4 hours journey. You will be heading to Charang for the day. On the way, you have to climb plateau and pass the longest Mani walls in Nepal. You can also expect to see maze of fields and monastery along the way. Houses there are separated by stone walls.

After breakfast in a lodge, you will then leave for Manthang which is approximately 5 hours far from Charang. On the way, you have to cross river and then you have to ascend for some time. From the peak of you can see beautiful Lo- Manthang village. You can also see charismatic view of mountains like Nilgiri, Annapurna etc from the village where you will be stopping for a night in a lodge.

You will going on a day trip to Chhoser cave which is 3 hours far from Lo- Manthang. It is a mysterious cave in Upper Mustang. To get to the cave you have first climb steep stairs. It is a man-made cave even after decades of research, researchers are unable to find when it was built, who build and what was the purpose of building it. You can also see Buddhist religious flag around the cave. You will be returning back to Lo- Manthang after the trip.

After visiting mysterious cave the other day, you will be trekking to Drakmar which is about 6-7 hours far from Lo- Manthang. You will be ascending about 400m above sea level in this journey. You will be staying at a lodge for the night.

You will leave for Ghiling after breakfast. The trek is expected to be around 5-6 hr. This day, you will reach the highest altitude of this trek which is approximately 3860m above sea level. Ghiling is a village where you can see two gompas (monastery) with walls painted red. You will stay there for a night in a lodge.

After breakfast, you will be descending from the highest altitude of this trek to a little bit lower altitude. You will be heading to Chuksang for the day which takes approximately 5-6 hours. On the way, you have to face steep ridges and over hills. Chuksang village lies between two hills so the village can be seen from the hills which will a stunning view. You will rest in Chuksang village in a lodge.

You will return back to Jomson from Chuksang which will be approximately 5-6 hours journey where you will be staying for a night a lodge.

You will be flying from Jomson to Pokhara which will take approximately 30 minutes in the flight where you will be staying for a night in a lodge.

After breakfast in Pokhara, you will be escorted to Kathmandu in a private tourist vehicle which will be approximately 6-7 hours journey and our representative from Finding Nepal will drop you to your hotel.
