Punkar Lake Trek

It will a long journey as you will be escorted to Bashishar in a private tourist vehicle. Bashishar is a municipality in Lamjung district which is also the district headquarters. From there you will drive in a jeep to Chamje. Chamje is a village in Bashishar district. The estimated time for this journey is expected to be around 8-9 hours. You will staying in a lodge for a night.

Your trekking journey starts from this day as you will be trekking to Dharapani is a village in Manang District with large people living there. Your trekking journey will be approximately 5-6 hours long. You can see naturally blessed vegetation and scenery in the village and you will be stopping there for the day in a lodge.

After breakfast in a lodge, you shall be leaving for Gho which will be approximately 4-5 hours journey. You will be spending a night in Gho and continue your journey the day after.

You will trekking to Yak Kharka after your stay in Gho. It will be an approximately 4-5 hours trek. On your way, you can see big mountain like structure but unfortunately, not covered in snow. You can also expect to see Yak in those places which acts as a means of transporting goods from one place to another.

Your journey will be tough as the altitude will be massively increasing approximately a kilometer. But you will be trekking only 4-5 hours to Bimthang which is a good thing. You will pass through rhododendron (laliguras) forest and few villages. After going through a thick forest you will reach for final destination Bimthang.

You will reach the highest altitude of this trek which is approximately 4100m above sea level. You will trek and explore Ponkar Lake which is 3-5 hours far. Ponkar lake is near Salpudanda glacier and there is another lake beside Ponkar which is called Nayamlo lake. After exploring Ponkar Lake, you will then return to Bimthang for one more night stay.

After having breakfast, you will return back to Gho. It will be approximately 5-6 hours journey and you will descend for most of the time. The weather will be mild as the altitude drops down massively. There you will be staying for a night and continue your journey the day after.

It will a long journey as you will be trekking for almost 6-7 hours to Taal. You will be descending for the most of the time. As it is a long journey, you shall leave as early as possible so you don’t have to miss out anything in the journey. You will be staying there for a night in a lodge.

You will be trekking to Syange which will be approximately 5-6 hours of trek. Marsyangdi river flows from this place and you can beautiful scenery from this place. You will be staying in a lodge for a night.

After breakfast, you will leave for Besishahar from Syange in a shared jeep. From there you will travel in a private tourist bus to Kathmandu which will be the end point of your trekking journey. Our worker from Finding Nepal will pick you up and drop off to your hotel.
