Ganesh is the name that comes from "Ganesh" comes from a Hindu god - Lord Ganesh with a head identical to the head of an elephant. The top of Ganesh Himal looks like that of an elephant and; therefore referred to for its role as Ganesh Himal. Ganesh Himal Trek is a thrilling trek that takes you to stunning beauty of lively villages, stunning mountains, glaciers, and an amazing scenery. The natural beauty around Ganesh Himal is an enchanting experience that you will remember all the way through your journey. The vegetation is diverse between sub-tropical and alpine throughout the trek, the path is a haven for a diverse fauna and flora. Due to its varied vegetation and landscape Ganesh Himal region is home to around 526 species of plant and 300 species of animals and birds including Himalayan Thar, Gaur, Musk deers, monkeys, and many more birds. The region is awash with orchids. Ganesh Himal region has around 40 orchid species. Rhododendrons as well as waterfalls, lakes and streams along your route which makes your trip more lively and vibrant.

The journey starts and you will go to Syabru Bashi from Kathmandu by private tourist bus. You will reach there in approximately 6-7 hours. On this route you will go from Trisuli Bazaar, Dhunche to reach Syabru Bashi. It is a beautiful village from where beautiful scenery can be seen. You might also see hotel springs in this area. After a long journey, you will be taking a rest at a tourist standard hotel for the night.

After breakfast in the hotel, you will be going to Gatland. It will be a long journey as you will be trekking for roughly 7-8 hours. Gatlang is a village in Rasuwa District with very few people living there. This village is situated in high hills and has houses made out of stone slaps, mud, brick and tin for the roof, a typical old Nepali house which add to the beauty of the village. You will stay at a lodge or a tea house for a night.

It will be a tough day as you will be trekking for almost 7-8 hours from Gatlang to Somdang and at the end of the day you will reach 3270m above sea leave which is approximately 1 kilometer rise from the previous day. On your way, you will go uphill for some of the time through rhododendron (laliguras) and pine forest. There is also a river named after the place which is the border between two districts Rasuwa and Dhading.

You will trek 6-7 hours for the day, as you will be going from Somdang to Pasang Kharka. This will be the highest altitude that you will reach in this trek which is approximately 3850m above sea level. You can see a wide view of terrain from Pasang Kharka. You will stay in a lodge or tent in Pasang Kharka.

After three days of continuing trekking for a long duration, you can relax for a day in Pasang Kharka. You can always explore the village and can communicate with people living there for your better understanding about the culture and tradition followed by people living there.

You shall for Tipling immediately after breakfast as it would be a long journey lasting approximately for 6-7 hours. The path is not that difficult because you will be descending for most of the time. Tipling is a huge village with Buddhist monasteries and Church. You will rest there for the night in a tea house or in a lodge.

The trek will be very short lasting about only 3-4 hours. You will leave for Serthong for the day. Serthong is a village which is mainly inhabited by Tamang. Most of the people living there follow Buddhist religion. They have their own culture, believes and tradition and if you reach there on an occasion you might also get to see their shaman dances. It is said to be the only village in the region.

After a night in Serthong, you will leave for Borong after having breakfast in a lodge or a tea house. It will be approximately 6-7 hours of trekking. You will be descending a little bit down in height as you will reach 1700m above sea level which is 200m less than your previous day. The weather will also get a little more harmer.

You will again ascend for the day as you will be trekking to Kaluthati which is 2350m above sea level. It is approximately a 6-7 hours trek so you have to leave immediately after breakfast if you don’t want to miss anything on the journey. You will be spending your night in Kaluthati for the day in a tea house or in a lodge.

The journey will begin early in the morning after breakfast and for the day you will go to Khanyabas which is approximately 6-7 hours away. It is also known as Setidevi which means white goddess. Khanyabas is a village in Dhading where you will be staying for the day.

You will be trekking to Kimtang after breakfast. The journey is expected to be around 5-6 hours. Kimtang is a village in Nuwakot. You can also expect to see tea gardens around Kimtang named after the place itself. You will be spending your night there for the day.

You should be prepared for today as you will be trekking for a long duration i.e. 6-7 hours and not just that you will be ascending again upto 3220m above sea level. You shall leave immediately after breakfast if you don’t want to miss anything. As you will be in a high altitude place you can expect to see a valley under the hill and breathtaking scenery from the top as a bonus you will be staying there for the night in a tea house or in a lodge.

After long and harsh trekking for days for long durations. You will be having a pleasure ride as you will be travelling from Megang Danda to Trisuli Bazaar by a bus or shared jeep. Trisuli Bazaar is one of the most popular cities of Nepal. From there you will be then escorted to Kathmandu by a bus where your trekking journey will come to an end.
