The trail winds up and down through fascinating ice to the area known as Everest Base Camp, where in spring, we might see some of the expedition teams as they prepare to climb the mountain. From the Base Camp, we get fantastic close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall, and we can appreciate just how difficult it is to negotiate a route through the huge blocks of ice. Nuptse towers above Pumori and us rears up behind us. After a short photo stop, we retrace our steps to Gorak Shep for overnight Overnight at the local lodge.

During the ascent to Kala Patthar, we can stop to catch our breath at several outstanding viewpoints to capture some memories if you are a photo geek. After several hours of a steep walk, we’ll reach to Kala Patthar. From here, we scramble to climb the rocky outcrop near to the summit marked by cairns and prayer flags. As we enter the top, we can rest on the Kala Patthar rocks and enjoy the magnificent 360 degree Panorama view of the unbelievable Himalayas, wandering from one mighty massif to another. You can capture the moment and the place eternally in your soul and digitally in your camera. For a lifelong memory.
