Trip Overview
Langtang Valley is situated to the North of Kathmandu Valley. This trek falls under a short trek. The maximum altitude of this trek is almost above 4000m above sea level. It starts from Syabrubesi and ends with the Kyanjin Gompa (3870m). Kyanjun gompa is the ancient monastery of the place. The passes go through rhododendron forests, bamboo forests, waterfalls, and dazzling snow-capped mountains, which leads to the Langtang National Park.
The mountain ranges viewed from here are Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Ri, and Langtang Lirung. You can explore varieties of flora and fauna throughout the trek. Among them, Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, monkeys, and red panda are some protected animals. You can also view yak pastures and local cheese factories that serve organic cheese. The local people here are mostly Tamangs and Sherpas. They follow Buddhism. They have their own unique culture, tradition, and language. They are very humble and offer warm hospitality, which melts the heart of the visitors. You can find various lodge and teahouses. So, the trekkers do not need to worry about their food and stay. Due to the natural beauty and social cultures and traditions, this trek is gaining more popularity than before. The number of trekkers visiting this place is drastically increasing every year. And also, it is a short trek and does not include high altitude.
